SubscribeBeginning early this year, google made some changes to their search ranking, in the hope of offering it’s search users better results, on official google blog it is estimated 11.8% search results will be affected by this update, put it this way, there are about 12% of google search results are considered low quality by google itself. They planned and started the update about one year ago, no wonder I saw a few of my keywords’ ranks dropped like a rock, but almost all the ranks promoted by articles and blog posts were not affected, and a few of them even gained a few positions, it’s obvious that link building the old way is the thing of past, probably due to link spamming sites being tossed out by google.
What is old way of link building any way? a large percentage of SEO firms will do this, they put your links on websites which only exist for holding links, the only updates on those websites are the new links, and most of them are useless, the name link spamming are just for these sites. New google algorithm most likely will punish these link spammers, the links on those spamming sites won’t work anymore.
Let’s check out a few examples. When I got into online marketing long time ago, I started with this keyword, wire rope clips, at that time almost every body was doing plain linking campaign, lately I figured that every site in the campaign had way too many links, and the worst thing is that those sites are linking sites only and had no content, not even crap content. Now let’s look at another keyword, chain puller , we put the link in relevant context, almost no plain links, now we have really good ranking for this keyword. Now contextual links win the battle, then what? In fact the only thing matters here is content, as long as you dole out high quality content, you will attract readers as well as search engines. You may think there are already too many blogs out there, it’s not true, there will never be too many good blogs, such as this interesting blog, top smartphone , I build it as a hobby and kept adding good or mediocre content, the result? I got nice ranking for a few realy nice keywords now. As we can see, creating quality content and article marketing is what we have to do to get great result. If you can build a group of your own blogs, something like ratchet winch, you will have the power to push any sites up in search engines.
At the end of day all you have to do is to create attractive content, share the content with people, promote your business with the content, this strategy will prevail in short or long term. The virtues, persistence and patience, are essential for your success, nothing will automatically improve overnight, i.e., selling online or improve your search rankings, keep writing, publishing, sharing and creating, you will see the day of success.
