Beginning early this year, google made some changes to their search ranking,   the reason cited is that google wanted to provide more relevant results, on official google blog it is estimated 11.8% search results will be affected by this update, in another word, google thinks about 12% of it’s search results are really bad and need to manipulated. They planned and started the update about one year ago, maybe that’s why some of my ranks dropped out of first 10 pages, the good thing is that those keywords promoted by content rich links are not affected, some of the keywords even ranked better than before, it becomes clear that link building the old way is the thing of past, probably due to links crammed sites being de-indexed by google.

So what exactly is linking campaign the old way? a lot of marketing companies did and are doing the plain link building, they will get links from any websites which accept adding links, these websites will only be updated when new links are being added, and most of them are useless, the name of link spamming sites is justified. The latest google update will definitely downgrade most if not all of these sites, the links on those spamming sites won’t work anymore.  

Examples will be great for explanation. It was quite some time ago, I started promote the keyword, cable pullers, of course with old way of link building, almost all the sites I got link from had too many links, and those sites had only links, no real content at all. This strategy worked in the beginning, eventually the keyword could be found on first page, this was the case until google made the change. Old and outdated linking campaign lost to content linking, what’s next? Actually this is all about content, when you create unique and quality content, your rank will improve over time, since search engines are another kind of readers. How do you do it? Last but not least, the social media is the must have channel for your marketing effort. Lately google did something to their ranking algorithm,   in the name of providing more relevant search results for it’s users, on official google blog it is estimated 11.8% search results will be affected by this update, put it this way, google thinks about 12% of it’s search results are really bad and need to manipulated. Google started this change almost one year ago, maybe that’s why some of my ranks dropped out of first 10 pages, on the other hand almost all keywords promoted by contextual links are not affected, and a few of them even gained a few positions, it’s almost a sure thing that plain link building loses all it’s attraction, at least in the eye of google.

Now what on earth is plain link building and how do people do it? a large percentage of SEO firms will do this,  they will get links from any websites which accept adding links, the content on those sites will never be updated, and most of them are useless, the name of link spamming sites is justified. The latest google update will definitely downgrade most if not all of these sites, any links on them will be affected too.

Total Truck Tie Downs: Chains and Binders

Grade 70 transport chain and ratchet chain binder are heavy duty tie down equipment , all these tie downs are made from steel, the WLL of the chains and binders are higher than most comparable tie down straps , let’s look at 5/16” transport chain(WLL 4700lbs) vs. 2” tie downs(typical WLL 3333lbs) ,  3/8” chain(WLL around 6600lbs) to 4” tie downs(5400lbs max.) , you will see that compare to tie down straps, binder chains are much stronger, and chain binders are even stronger than same size chains, for instance, 5/16”-3/8” binder has WLL 5400lbs which is stronger than 4700lbs working load limit of 5/16” system 7 chain . Another reason chains and binders are considered heavy duty, is their design factor is 4:1 while webbing tie downs have 3:1 typical design factor, see “Design Factor” for reference .

These chains and binders are mostly used to haul big, heavy equipment, such as backhoe, bulldozer, these things are hard on straps, only carbon steel chains can sustain that kind of abuse , when we talk about backhoe, forklift, we need at least 3/8” system 7 chains and binders to secure them, for something which has less weight we consider 5/16” chains are good fit, of course we still have 1/2” and up chains and binders, these chains will most likely be used to tie down something out of ordinary, such as battle tanks, or some other applications require super heavy duty chains.

As we stated above, grade 70 chains , or say binder chains are used on a lot things except for overhead lifting. There are people who use these chains to tear trees, to tow mobile loading docks, a lot of forestry services use large quantity of these system 7 steel chains and binders .

Grade 70 chains and ratchet chain binders are tough tie down equipment , both chains and binders are made of carbon steel, their working load limits are higher than their straps counterparts , say we compare grade 70 size 5/16” binder chain(which has 4700lbs WLL) to 2” tie downs(typical WLL 3333lbs) ,  6600lbs 3/8” transport chains vs. 5400lbs 4” tie down straps , you will see that compare to tie down straps, binder chains are much stronger, and chain binders are even stronger than same size chains, for instance, 5/16”-3/8” binder has WLL 5400lbs which is stronger than 4700lbs WLL of 5/16” grade 70 chain . Another reason chains and binders are considered heavy duty, is their design factor is 4:1 while webbing tie downs have 3:1 typical design factor, see “Design Factor” for reference .

According to NACM recommendations, the carbon steel used in making grade 70 chains should meet following criteria: no more than 0.35% Carbon, 0.040% Phosphorous and 0.050% Sulfur . When the material meets NACM recommendation, the manufacturing process are under strict quality control, and the final products meet or exceed  DOT requirements, you can put the chains and binders on your 18 wheeler and haul away.
