Short while ago google had changed their ranking algorithm, in the hope of furnishing it’s search users better results, google engineers published blog post which indicated there were 11.8% organic search results will be affected, say it another way, google thinks about 12% of it’s search results are really bad and need to manipulated. Google started this change almost one year ago, maybe that’s why some of my ranks dropped out of first 10 pages, but almost all the ranks promoted by articles and blog posts were not affected, a few of these keywords ranked better than ever, it’s obvious that linking campaign the old way is the thing of past, probably due to link spamming sites being thrown away by google.
So what exactly is linking campaign the old way? a large percentage of SEO firms will do this, they put your links on websites which only exist for holding links, the content on those sites will never be updated, it’s safe to assume all of them are trash, the name of link spamming sites is justified. New google algorithm most likely will punish these link spammers, the links on those spamming sites won’t work anymore.

Now let’s look at another keyword, chain pullers, most back links for this keyword are from articles and posts, with very few plain links, now we have really good ranking for this keyword. So contextual link wins this time, what about future? It all boils down to content, as long as you dole out high quality content, your rank will improve over time, since search engines are another kind of readers. How do you do it? Writing articles and building blogs, for instance let’s examine this one, top smartphones , in the beginning I just post to it casually, lately I added nice stuff left and right, now it can even rank the highly competitive keywords.
